Orry Oscar Franklin's first two weeks

I haven't done a blog update since I got home because there was so much I wanted to say. About the birth, about Finn, about the complications etc.
But I haven't had time to write them all down! Well - I've probably had the time (he does sleep a LOT) but James has had the computer or I've been too tired to focus my eyes much less type out a coherent sentence.

So I haven't done it. But who am I kidding - it's the pictures that people want! So I'm here to just put up a bunch of pictures. Hopefully at some point I will be able to record all my thoughts on all the rest as well, but in the meantime I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

I will say quickly though that we are all home now, all fine and healthy and all is well!

So here are some good-uns from Orry's first couple weeks of life (except for the posed photo-shoots I've done. I need to go through those first because there are LOTS! another time...):

The birth:
(apologies for this picture - but it's the one in which I am MOST covered up! I took him immediately as he came out and my clothes all ended up a bit... gross... so I ended up just striping down and wrapping up in a blanket when I went to lay down... This picture is the only one from right after he was born where  a) I'm mostly decent b) no grossness is visible c) James had swiped a cloth across me because apparently if you kiss a gross slimy baby, you get gross sliminess on your face and don't even realise...)

I was starving so sent James out to the shop to get some food. He brought back a FEAST!

The next morning:

(Finn seems mostly interested in eating blueberries... also, just to explain - the giant sock thing on Orry's hand in all these pictures etc is because he had a cannula put in to his hand with three different tubes for the three different antibiotics he was on. They were all held in place by a splint thing and covered with a sock to protect it a bit and hold it together - hence it looking like he has a giant hand!)

Hanging out in the post-natal ward (overall I was only there for three nights and two and a half days but it felt like EONS. I just wanted to go home! At least James and Finn were able to come lots to keep us company):

He's not ALWAYS beautiful!

(It's quite a long video - but pretty cute - especially when Finn spontaneously decides to give him a cuddle... and randomly talks about turning into an angel!)

At last they tell us we can go home! We decide to just take the bus, same as we did with Finn :)
Orry's not so sure he wants to go!

Home at last:

LOVE the "I'm going to ignore the embarrassment" look on his face)

First bath:

Finn wants to carry his babies in the carrier as well:

Settling in as a new family of four:

(we've been wanting to get the funny way Orry finishes a sneeze on camera for awhile but it's too unpredictable - and then James managed to get one, as well as Finn doing his Orry-imitation off camera. Pretty cute if I do say so myself!!)

And there you have it!! Pictures galore! But let's face it - who can look at that face and not want to show the world?!
Until next time!
